“Medicen Paris Region was created in 2005 as a result of the remarkable collaborative dynamism that united companies, clinicians and academics, supported by the State, the Regional Council and the counties local authorities. Their ambition? To group their strengths together in order to favor innovation and to reinforce Paris and its Region’s competitiveness, visibility and attractiveness.

The Cluster is a wonderful way of integrating skills and initiatives in the fields of life science, healthcare and pharmaceutical technology. The abundance and quality of these resources in the Paris region provide an exceptional potential for innovation that deserves recognition. This new movement requires permanent mobilization and a true cultural revolution. We are determined to achieve it.

Our priorities? Promoting synergies and the implementation of major collaborative projects, establishing new relationships between large companies, innovative entrepreneurs, clinicians and academics, providing support for emerging biotech companies (by building collaborative projects and identifying funding opportunities), sharing access to infrastructure, skills and know-how and encouraging new business start-ups and thus job creation.

By working together to seize these attractive opportunities, we are aiming at becoming Europe's leading industrial cluster for therapeutic innovation - on the same level as world leaders in the US and Asia.

Lastly, the cluster will contribute toward major public health challenges such as the design of therapies for constantly increasing neurodegenerative diseases, the fight against cancers, the mastering of alternative treatments of infectious diseases.
